Service Description

This six-week course offers the perfect combination of practical antenatal education, relaxation, and hands-on baby care skills. Designed to help you feel calm, confident, and fully prepared, it supports you to: - Understand your body and your baby throughout pregnancy and birth - Build confidence for labour and birth, with techniques to stay calm and in control - Learn practical newborn care so you feel ready for those first precious weeks - Strengthen your emotional wellbeing and create space to connect with your baby - Make friends and enjoy your pregnancy in a warm, welcoming environment During the course, you’ll explore: - Antenatal education to understand the birth process and your amazing birthing body - Active birth positions, movement, and breathing techniques for a more comfortable labour - Comfort measures, natural coping strategies, and medical pain relief options - Interventions, decision-making tools , and self-help strategies - Hands-on baby care including feeding, nappy changing, soothing, and safe sleep - Emotional wellbeing, bonding, and practical partner support for life with your newborn Key Details: 6-week course with friendly 2.5 hour weekly sessions Best taken from around 25 weeks of pregnancy onwards (we recommend finishing before 38 weeks where possible) Suitable for all birth journeys and choices, whether it’s your first baby or your fifth Counts as part of your official antenatal care, meaning you are legally entitled to paid time off work to attend Taught by a FEDANT registered and accredited antenatal teacher and doula Course Structure Weeks 1–4: Mums-to-be only Weeks 5 & 6: For mums and partners/supporter Wednesdays at 3pm Sessions 1–5: 2.5 hours | Session 6: 3 hours Small group setting Printed course handbook included Refreshments provided each week The course offers incredible value at just £90 — that’s only £15 per session — and gives you both practical skills and emotional support for birth and early parenthood.

🌿 Nurture Wise Course – Terms & Conditions Welcome to Nurture Wise: Birth & Baby Prep, a 6-week antenatal course offered by Nurture the Borders. These sessions support your journey into confident, connected parenthood. Please read the key terms below: 1. Course Access & Payment Your place is confirmed once full payment is made. This course is heavily subsidised: the cost to you is £90, though its full value is over £300. Fees are non-refundable unless outlined below. 2. Who Can Attend Sessions 1–4 are for the birthing person only. Sessions 5 & 6 include a birth partner (e.g. dad, non-birthing parent, friend or support person). 3. Missed Sessions & Cancellations We cannot offer refunds for missed sessions. If we cancel a session, we will reschedule or offer a partial refund. In the event of miscarriage, a full refund will be given. If you're advised to stop attending for medical reasons, we may offer a partial refund or credit. 4. WhatsApp Group You may join a WhatsApp group facilitated by your course leader. This helps with peer support and sharing info. The leader will leave after the last baby in the group has been born. Please use the group respectfully. Nurture the Borders is not responsible for content shared once the facilitator steps back. 5. Photography & Social Media We may take photos or short videos for social media or funder reporting. We will always request written permission before using your image. You can decline at any time. 6. Health & Safety Please inform us of any medical or emotional health conditions that may affect your participation, so we can support you appropriately.
