Service Description

Our unique, comprehensive and empowering course for expectant parents is designed to ensure you have all the essential education, tools and support you need to prepare confidently for your upcoming birth and the early days of caring for your new baby. Delivered in two 4 hour workshops, this course is evidence based, down to earth and supportive of all birthing and parenting styles and choices. Birth Partner Workshop We will cover: * Antenatal education to help you understand the birth process. * How to use positions and movement for an easier and more comfortable birth. * Practical skills and techniques birth partners can use to support mum. * Your choices throughout labour and birth. * Massage techniques, other comfort skills and birth props. * Breathing, and relaxation techniques. * Methods of pain relief and comfort measures. * Medical interventions including induction and C-section birth as well as things you can do for yourself. * The first moments with your baby, what to expect and your choices. Baby Workshop We will cover: * Getting to know and bonding with your newborn. * Life with a new baby what to expect. * Practical baby care skills (including bathing, changing & dressing). * Fourth trimester for mum & birth recovery. * Fourth trimester for baby. * Infant sleep. * Feeding. * Parenting Choices. * Soothing and settling techniques. * Adapting to parenthood, relationships and support networks. FAQ's about this course At what stage of pregnancy should we do this course? We recommend joining us in your third trimester of pregnancy but you are welcome to join earlier if you would like to. Who is this course for? This course is for expectant parents or mum-to-be and her support person. This course is suitable for all expectant parents whether this is your first or fifth baby, it’s equally important to prepare for your birth and the arrival of your new little one. Course Structure The course is made up of two workshops that run a week apart and can be booked as individual workshops or as a whole course. This course counts as part of your antenatal care pathway and so you are entitled to take time off work to attend. All our antenatal classes meet a high set of quality standards and provide you with the most up-to-date evidence based unbiased education.
